KSSM8+™
The KSSM8+ face milling system is a cost-effective solution for machining cast iron, steel, and stainless steel. The inserts achieve a balance between cutter density and depth-of-cut range, providing versatility in machining operations. These mills are engineered for applications requiring a close to 90° shoulder, offering benefits such as low axial forces to minimize part distortion.
The KSSM8+ double-sided-inserts feature eight cutting edges that optimize efficiency. Kennametal’s IC10 inserts have an 88° lead angle and the IC12.7 have an 87° lead angle for precision machining close to a shoulder. LD and GD geometries are available for fine and medium finishing operations. Our range of shell mill bodies are perfect for adaptability, reduced machine loading, quiet cutting, and ease of entry and exit from the component.
