KSEM™ Carbide Inserts

The KSEM™ line offers a comprehensive range of carbide inserts engineered to excel in modular drilling applications. Kennametal’s carbide inserts include machine diameter ranges of 12,5-40mm (.4921 – 1.5748”) up to 10 x D. The HPG geometry stands out for its specialization in alloyed steels -- providing stability with its straight cutting edge and is particularly beneficial in short chipping steels and interrupted cuts. HP inserts are designed for long chipping steels and feature a curved cutting edge to optimize chip formation. The HPCCL carbide inserts have four margin lands for perfect hole straightness are perfect for cast iron drilling. Stainless steel applications benefit from the innovative design of the HPL geometry, ensuring perfect chip evacuation.

The versatility of the PC inserts provides the piloting needs across all materials, while the FEG geometry within the PC family excels in 180° flat bottom hole drilling and piloting on inclined entries in steels and cast iron. For drilling with low cutting forces in high-temperature alloys and non-ferrous materials, the SPL geometry offers precision and efficiency.
